As Amanda and her brother moved into their first apartments, Vanessa measured their units and created original furniture layouts, optimizing their spaces, and creating furniture collections. When sharing this with friends, we heard an endless number of stories about how people did not know how to furnish their own spaces. They said if they had known they would have hired us to put collections together for them and Fittingly Furnished was born.
With a desire to bring well designed living spaces to everyone, we have reimagined the shopping experience! We provide professionally designed living spaces without the expense of hiring an Interior Designer. Instead of scrolling through thousands of pages of furniture, we have selected the best pieces found at Market creating stylish and timeless collections… for easy one-stop shopping!
We created Fittingly Furnished where we design a limited number of furniture collections for sale on our website and offer design consultations.
As we launched Dwelling Defined in 2023, we met with Property Managers to share our original concept. It is complicated for residents to know how to arrange their furniture. Dwellings Defined measured each style unit, created original CAD drawings and furniture arrangements. We curated a limited collection of furniture that fit into the spaces for easy one-stop shopping on our website. Many units are difficult to arrange. This has been a useful selling tool for the Property Management team.
At meetings and trade shows, we are frequently asked if we can help update Models, Lobbies, and Common Spaces. Of course we can! Dwellings Defined Commercial and Hospitality is your go-to partner for all design needs.
We created Fittingly Furnished to help residents furnish their spaces in standard size units. With our stylishly curated collection of furniture, we make furnishing spaces fun and easy.
Enhance your residents experience… Please consider referring Fittingly Furnished to your residents on your website.
We can’t wait to partner with you!
Vanessa and Amanda
Dwellings Defined started with a simple observation—and a bigger opportunity.
When Amanda and her brother moved into their first apartments, Vanessa measured their units and created custom furniture layouts to make the most of their space. What started as a practical solution quickly revealed a common problem: most people don’t know how to properly furnish a space—and many end up with furniture that doesn’t fit, layouts that don’t work, and rooms that feel off.
As we shared this with others, we heard the same thing again and again:
“If I had known, I would have hired you.”
That insight led to the original concept behind Dwellings Defined—making well-designed, functional spaces more accessible.
As we began working with multifamily properties, something became even clearer.
Many units—especially in larger buildings—are difficult for prospects to understand during a tour. Awkward layouts, undefined living areas, and poor furniture placement can make a space feel smaller or less functional than it actually is.
At the same time, property teams were asking us a different question:
“Can you help us with our model units, lobbies, and shared spaces?”
The answer was yes—and that’s where Dwellings Defined evolved.
Today, we partner with multifamily property teams to design and furnish model units and amenity spaces that help properties lease more effectively, present more clearly, and compete with confidence.
We’ve seen firsthand how design directly impacts leasing, perception, and performance.
A well-designed space doesn’t just look good—it helps prospects understand how to live in it, feel confident in their decision, and move forward more quickly.
Our work is focused specifically on helping properties:
This is not just design. This is a leasing tool
We partner with teams responsible for the performance and presentation of multifamily properties, including:
Whether it’s a single model unit or multiple spaces across a portfolio, we work as a collaborative partner to bring clarity, consistency, and impact to each project.
We believe great design should be both beautiful and purposeful.
Every project begins with understanding how a space needs to function—how it will be toured, experienced, and ultimately leased. From there, we design with intention, ensuring every detail contributes to a cohesive and effective result.
We handle the details so your team can stay focused on leasing and operations.
